As part of a demonstration of the capabilities of an underwater vehicle equipped with a two-function manipulator, it was shown how the use of a specialized joystick significantly improves control precision. Key joystick parameters—dead zones, zero point, and response sensitivity—were pre-configured. This enabled the smoothest and most predictable manipulator positioning possible, which is critical for performing precise underwater operations. A 15-cm-tall object was used for testing. Control using the specialized joystick demonstrated stable gripping and high guidance accuracy, which is particularly important when working with small objects. This approach to control opens up new possibilities for conducting inspections, precise measurements, and maintenance underwater.
